This is me, Lynette (center) with two of our core designers Kaitlyn and Lindsay. We have so much fun together, and I'm so blessed to have such talent and joyful young women working for me!

This summer, we were asked to provide a floral crown for a styled engagement shoot, collaborating with Events Held Dear who styled the shoot which was beautifully photographed by Chelsie Burkhart.

Components for this crown came entirely from cuts collected among my gardens with the exception of a couple stems of spray roses and lisianthus. Selections included cranberry bush viburnum, allium, sweet autumn clematis, heuchera, feather celosia, and more. Such a romantic couple! Aren't Katie and Christian gorgeous?

Floral crowns have been worn for centuries and throughout many cultures as a symbol of the celebration of love, especially in marriage and fertility. Sometimes specific flowers were used because they held a certain meaning that the couple wanted to instill in their marriage.

Sometimes all you need for a statement flower crown are a couple of cymbidium orchids and rosemary.

Other flower crowns contain a mix of more delicate flowers and greenery. The one pictured below is made up of spray roses, hypericum berries, and heuchera leaves.
