About
The most compelling floral design feels natural, intentional, and quietly memorable.
At Madison House Designs, floral design begins with the materials themselves — understanding the natural character, structure, and seasonality of each bloom. Our work is known for layered compositions, thoughtful greenery, and an attention to detail that allows flowers to feel both intentional and effortless within a space.
Founder Lynette Higginbotham studied horticulture at The Ohio State University and grew up in a multi-generational Ohio farming family. Long before Madison House Designs began designing weddings, working with plants and understanding their natural rhythms was already part of daily life. That background continues to shape the studio’s approach today — paying close attention to seasonality, structure, and the natural movement of each bloom.
With deep roots in the Columbus community, our team blends artistic floral design with meticulous execution, ensuring every petal, texture, and detail enhances the atmosphere of your celebration. We collaborate closely with each couple to develop a floral concept that feels authentic, refined, and thoughtfully composed. Whether your vision is classic and romantic, modern and minimal, or richly layered with seasonal blooms and sculptural greenery, our approach focuses on nuanced color palettes and floral compositions that complement both your venue and your personal style.
Known for our thoughtful process and calm, professional approach, Madison House Designs brings together creativity, experience, and a refined design sensibility to transform spaces and shape meaningful moments throughout your wedding day.
Lynette Higginbotham is the founder and lead designer of Madison House Designs, a Columbus, Ohio–based floral studio established in 2011. She brings steady leadership, deep experience, and a highly trained eye to every event the studio designs.
Raised in a multi-generational Ohio farming family, Lynette’s understanding of flowers began long before her career did—rooted in hands-on time spent in gardens, orchards, and fields. That foundation led her to study horticulture at The Ohio State University, where technical plant knowledge and design sensibility came together.
Known for her calm presence, thoughtful process, and consistent execution, Lynette is trusted by couples, planners, and venues alike to create floral environments that feel natural, intentional, and well considered. Her work reflects both artistry and reliability—designs that are beautiful, grounded, and seamlessly integrated into the day.
Outside of the studio, Lynette is a mother of four and shares a lifelong love of plants with her husband, Fred, whom she met while working at OSU’s Ohio Plant Germplasm Center. She draws inspiration from nature, timeworn details, and classic botanical forms—elements that continue to shape her approach to floral design.

Growing up in the business and being pretty much submersed in it throughout her childhood, Madison, the namesake of Madison House Designs knows the business and its history like no other. Although Madison is now a college student at Ohio University, she spends her summers and frequent weekends designing and setting up weddings with our team. She recently had her first experience leading one of our set-ups at an editorial shoot, and can design a compote floral piece as artfully as any senior level designer (among many other things).
