A Historic Winter Wedding Editorial at the Beverly Mansion
Event location: The Beverly MansionSome historic wedding venues retain a strong sense of their original character. The Beverly Mansion, a historic wedding venue in Marengo, Ohio, offers a setting where scale, materials, and interior detailing naturally support intimate, atmospheric celebrations.
For this winter wedding editorial, the design was informed by the season and by the venue’s history. Imagining the mansion during the late 19th century—when gatherings unfolded indoors during cold winter afternoons—helped establish the tone. The intent was not to recreate a specific moment in time, but to work within the rhythms of the space and the quiet inwardness that winter encourages.
Under the creative direction of Rooted Together Events, the editorial focused on creating an environment that felt gathered and connected. The rooms were arranged to encourage closeness, conversation, and shared presence, reflecting the feeling of people coming together out of the cold. The mood leaned romantic and warm, without formality, allowing the setting to feel lived-in rather than staged.
Florals were designed to support that atmosphere. A palette of deep reds, wine tones, and soft neutrals, grounded by dark foliage, introduced warmth throughout the space. Arrangements were kept low and close to the table, reinforcing a sense of shared experience while keeping the architectural details of the mansion visible and uninterrupted.
The reception table served as the visual anchor of the editorial. Candlelight moved across the surface, interacting with glassware and metal finishes, creating a setting suited to a winter wedding evening. The scale and placement encouraged guests to linger, talk, and remain present within the space.
Captured by Seth & Beth Photography, the imagery documents the balance between shadow and warmth that defined the day. The photographs highlight material, texture, and proximity—elements that are especially meaningful when showcasing a historic wedding venue like the Beverly Mansion.
The Beverly Mansion provided a clear framework for the design. Every decision was made in response to the venue itself, allowing the setting to remain central while supporting a winter wedding atmosphere rooted in connection and quiet romance.
