A Wedding at The Bluestone in Columbus, Ohio | J&M
Event location: The BluestoneJ & M's wedding at The Bluestone blended architectural drama with a soft, romantic palette. With its soaring woodwork and elevated stage, the venue calls for floral design that feels integrated rather than added — every element placed with scale, proportion, and structure in mind.
For their ceremony, we created a layered greenery installation accented with with roses in sandy beige, orange, and peach, suspended directly from the venue’s historic woodwork. By anchoring the florals to the architecture itself, the design felt connected to the space — as though it belonged there from the start rather than being placed in front of it.
Candle-lined aisles and grounded floral clusters added warmth at floor level, softening the height of the room. Following the ceremony, our team reset the space for the reception, repurposing aisle florals as centerpieces to maintain cohesion while maximizing the overall design investment. The transition allowed the room to evolve seamlessly from ceremony to celebration.
Throughout the evening, floral moments carried the palette forward with refined table designs and intentional repetition of color, creating a sense of balance within The Bluestone’s dramatic interior.
Designing weddings at The Bluestone requires an understanding of how florals interact with height, wood tones, and lighting. For this couple, the result felt romantic, architectural, and completely at home within this iconic Columbus venue.
