An Understated Athletic Club of Columbus Wedding | H&N
Event location: The Athletic Club of ColumbusH & N's wedding at the Athletic Club of Columbus embodied historic elegance in its purest form.
Set within the club’s richly detailed interiors and warm wood architecture, the design leaned into the setting rather than competing with it. The most meaningful element of the day began with the bride’s bouquet — a modern recreation of her mother’s bridal arrangement.
Fern, stephanotis, and cascading phalaenopsis orchids were reinterpreted with refined proportion and movement. The bouquet honored its original inspiration while feeling fresh and intentional. It was a generational thread, translated with restraint.
The bride’s style carried a quiet, old-world sensibility. Nothing showy. Nothing overworked. A clean silhouette, a pearl headpiece, and florals that felt curated rather than abundant.
Throughout the reception spaces at the Athletic Club of Columbus, greenery played the leading role. Sea star fern, an uncommon variety of pittosporum, and layered textural foliage created architectural movement. White florals were used sparingly and in varied forms — orchids, stephanotis, and other delicate accents — allowing shape and negative space to guide the eye.
The result felt historic without feeling formal in a rigid way. Elegant without excess. Designed to complement the venue’s character rather than overpower it.
This was a wedding defined by quiet confidence — and flowers that told a story across generations.
