Modern Tropical Florals at High Line Car House | P&B

Event location: High Line Car House

This wedding explored a modern, industrial aesthetic through a disciplined use of lush, tropical greenery. Set within the brick-lined interior of High Line Car House, the design relied on contrast—pairing raw architectural elements with sculptural foliage to reshape the space in a way that felt deliberate and refined.

A green-forward palette anchored the floral direction, with a curated selection of tropical foliages layered throughout the venue. Large-scale greens were incorporated into the chandeliers overhead, subtly shifting the visual weight of the room and drawing attention to its vertical volume. Rather than competing with the architecture, the foliage echoed it—strong, graphic, and structural.

Guest tables were styled with exotic palm foliages and textural greens, allowing form and negative space to guide each composition. Accents of white orchids, pink king protea, and birds of paradise were introduced sparingly, adding measured points of color while preserving the integrity of the predominantly green palette.

The result was a setting defined by clarity and restraint—bold in scale, yet edited in execution. The juxtaposition of vibrant greenery against aged brick created a look that felt distinctly modern without feeling overstated.

Photography by Emily Schutz captured the contrast, structure, and material richness of the day with precision.
