A Greek Orthodox Wedding at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio
Event location: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral Banquet CenterOver the years, we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Jennifer Kontomerkos of The Finer Things, a planner widely respected for her refined, luxury approach to wedding design. This celebration—held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio—was especially meaningful, honoring Greek Orthodox wedding traditions while also reflecting the groom’s Dutch heritage.
The floral design drew inspiration from Dutch Master floral styling, an aesthetic rooted in balance, depth, and intentional composition. This painterly approach served as a thoughtful nod to the groom’s background while translating beautifully within the sacred setting of Annunciation. Layered floral arrangements, classical movement, and restrained color palettes complemented the cathedral’s architecture, allowing tradition and ceremony to remain the focal point.
With a longstanding appreciation for the Dutch flower industry and European floral traditions, it was an honor to interpret these influences for a Greek Orthodox wedding in Columbus. Collaborating with a trusted creative team allowed the florals to feel both elevated and reverent—an approach we value when designing weddings within historic and culturally significant venues such as Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
