Fashion Forward Winter Brights at the Athletic Club

February 17, 2024 marked a bold moment at the Athletic Club of Columbus.

This celebration leaned fashion forward in saturated winter brights — lacquered plum anthurium, true orange tulips, wine-toned roses, and cascading amaranthus placed with intention rather than fully interwoven. It was a directional shift from the garden-layered work we were known for at the time, and one we embraced with clarity and precision.

The bride’s aunt worked closely with us to ensure the vision reflected the bride’s highly discerning taste. Decades earlier, the aunt had worn a striking black-and-white gown at her own wedding. That same dress was passed down to the bride and subtly modernized with an oversized bow at the back — a graphic, confident silhouette that felt both archival and current.

The florals needed to stand beside that kind of fashion moment. In early 2024, saturated winter brights and sculptural placement felt ahead of the curve — fearless against the Club’s historic interiors and unapologetically modern for February.
