An Elegant Kingwood Center Gardens Wedding in May | E&B
Event location: Kingwood Center GardensSet in Mansfield, Ohio, this May wedding at Kingwood Center Gardens paired historic estate architecture with peak spring gardens and a thoughtfully planned guest experience. The day was expertly coordinated by the wonderfully talented Tracey Castrejon Events and beautifully captured by Annie Albrecht Photography.
Kingwood offers a distinctive setting for weddings — a historic mansion surrounded by curated botanical gardens and mature landscape that feels established and intentional. For the ceremony, guests were seated across one of the property’s large open lawn areas, creating a wide, natural approach to the ceremony space while still feeling connected to the surrounding gardens and architecture.
One of the more memorable elements of Kingwood is the resident peacocks that move throughout the grounds. They add a sense of personality to the property and are one of those details guests tend to talk about long after the wedding day.
The reception took place in the enclosed brick courtyard, which creates a warm, sheltered environment while still feeling outdoors. The brick adds natural texture and depth, and the space transitions beautifully into evening with candlelight and soft lighting layered throughout.
Designing at Kingwood feels especially natural because the property is already so horticulturally rich. The existing gardens and seasonal plantings create a strong foundation, allowing wedding florals to complement what is already there rather than compete with it.
This wedding highlighted what makes Kingwood Center Gardens such a strong Ohio venue choice — historic character, real garden presence, and a layout that allows each part of the day to feel distinct while still cohesive.
