About Us
We are crafters of beauty with nature, endlessly seeking new, artistic ways to enrich the aesthetics of weddings and events through floral design.
Our Location...
Our floral workshop is located on a former apple farm in Marysville, Ohio, which is where we design all of our wedding florals. We love being out in the country where we have acres and land to grow on, while being just a short 45 minute drive from our main market and venues where we commonly deliver to in Columbus, Ohio. Consultations are available by appointment only in Marysville, Dublin, or by phone.
Our creations take on a natural, organic, overflowing style as we endeavor to create lush, impressive, detailed pieces of art.
Lynette Higginbotham
Hello! I’m Lynette, the owner and founder of Madison House Designs, a wedding and events floral studio, which opened in 2011. I am often asked the question, "what got you started in the wedding flower business?" The short answer -- I'd say pretty much everything has been leading me to this. My love of flowers and plants began as a young child, and my sweetest memories include tending to my mother’s perennial beds with her, growing vegetables, sweet corn, and rows of annuals with my dad, spending special moments with my grandmother learning about growing plants from cuttings and trying to keep up with her speedy green bean-picking skills, and some very early days spent strolling through my grandparents’ orchard where grandpa had several apple trees which he grafted. My mom sometimes talks about how her mom could grow and sew just about anything and that she always had extensive gardens.
I guess you could say I come from a family of horticulturists/farmers on both sides, so it is no wonder that this has become my career and that I chose to major in landscape horticulture at The Ohio State University. Wherever I go, I am drawn to nature and am constantly seeking new, artistic ways to arrange and present flowers and foliages for our discerning customers. Our designs take on a natural, organic, overflowing style, and we favor the use of interesting and unusual floral selections to create lush, impressive, detailed pieces of art.
I am a mom to 4 children named Madison, Fred, Charlotte, and William. My husband, Fred and I share our love of plants and met at OSU on the agriculture campus working at the Ohio Plant Germplasm Center, a seed storage bank. I love chocolate, jogging, the colors blue and green, and anything old/antique (especially antique floral prints). Other favorites of mine are jasmine vine, hellebores, garden roses, the fall season, September skies, my family, doing good for others, and most importantly, the Lord.
Laura Williams
When it comes to all things decorating and design, Laura has it! She recently joined our team with a special focus on large holiday and seasonal installations, and will be working with our clients as a design consultant going into the 2023 wedding season to dream up beautiful color pallets and guide our customers in the area of aesthetics, using her design expertise. She has a background in the medical field, but her real hobby and love has always been in the creative field of decorating. Laura has that natural eye for style and a true gift for resourcing the most modern and up-to-date products, and we can't wait to see her talents unfold here at Madison House.
Sheri Kinser
Sheri wears many hats at Madison House, and we are so grateful to have her wisdom with the ongoings of the business. She acts as a senior consultant, especially in the art of traditional event design, is a huge help keeping our books accounted for and contracts organized, and during the holiday decorating season steps into the role of holiday wreath-making extraordinaire.
