We are creators of beauty with nature, endlessly seeking new, artistic ways to enrich the aesthetics of weddings and events through floral design.
Our creations take on a natural, organic, overflowing style as we endeavor to create lush, impressive, detailed pieces of art.
Our floral workshop is located on a former apple farm in Marysville, Ohio, which is where we design all of our wedding florals. We love being out in the country where we have acres and land to grow on, while being just a short 45 minute drive from our main market and venues where we commonly deliver to in Columbus, Ohio.
We hold most of our wedding consultations at Brick House Blue in Dublin, Ohio (by appointment only).
Meet our team ...
Hello! I’m Lynette, the owner and founder of Madison House Designs, a wedding and events floral studio, which opened in 2011. I am often asked the question, "what got you started in the wedding flower business?" The short answer -- I'd say pretty much everything has been leading me to this. My love of flowers and plants began as a young child, and my sweetest memories include tending to my mother’s perennial beds with her, growing vegetables, sweet corn, and rows of annuals with my dad, spending special moments with my grandmother learning about growing plants from cuttings and trying to keep up with her speedy green bean-picking skills, and some very early days spent strolling through my grandparents’ orchard where grandpa had several apple trees which he grafted. My mom sometimes talks about how her mom could grow and sew just about anything and that she always had extensive gardens.
I guess you could say I come from a family of horticulturists/farmers on both sides, so it is no wonder that this has become my career and that I chose to major in landscape horticulture at The Ohio State University. Wherever I go, I am drawn to nature and am constantly seeking new, artistic ways to arrange and present flowers and foliages for our discerning customers. Our designs take on a natural, organic, overflowing style, and we favor the use of interesting and unusual floral selections to create lush, impressive, detailed pieces of art.
I am a mom to 4 children named Madison, Fred, Charlotte, and William. My husband, Fred and I share our love of plants and met at OSU on the agriculture campus working at the Ohio Plant Germplasm Center, a seed storage bank. I love chocolate, jogging, the colors blue and green, and anything old/antique (especially antique floral prints). Other favorites of mine are jasmine vine, hellebores, garden roses, the fall season, September skies, my family, doing good for others, and most importantly, the Lord.
Kaitlyn Nangle is our lead floral designer, and she is truly my right hand, ensuring that all of those little details revolving around each wedding comes together just as planned. From vase selection, flower preparations, inventory, design mechanics, and quality control, as well as carefully communicating the customer’s vision specified in our wedding design proposals to our whole team of designers, Kaitlyn makes it happen! You’ll likely see her on the day of the wedding, handling delivery and detailed set-up of the various floral pieces planned. She tackles the most intricate of our designs, especially the creation of our bridal bouquets and large-scale installations. As closely as Kaitlyn and I have worked together over the past several years, our design style and aesthetic has truly merged into one, and I'm so blessed to be able to entrust her with bringing any and all of our clients' floral visions to life.
Macey is our youngest, up-and-coming designer who joined us in the spring of 2021 after finishing her freshman year at OSU's Agricultural Technical Institute. From her kind and patient spirit to her eagerness to refine her skills in the art of floral design, she has been a major asset to our team. Macey brings a fresh perspective to our designs, and she works tirelessly to ensure that our clients' visions are brought to life. Her specialties include bridesmaids' bouquets and low centerpieces, and her responsibilities also now include the critical job of processing most of our incoming cut flower orders to ensure quality, quantity, and colors are correct. You'll also often see Macey out setting up our weddings around the Central Ohio area, beautifying the many spaces we have the opportunity to bring our floral creations to.
Katrina has been an essential part of our team of design team since the onset of our business. I have such fond memories of creating bridesmaid bouquets with her in our original tiny kitchen studio for some of our very first weddings and setting up many unique floral displays with her at a couple of her favorite locations, including the Palm House at Franklin Park Conservatory and The Bluestone. The powerhouse behind much of the wedding prep-work and receiving of incoming flower orders for many years past, Katrina now freelances for us on the weekends, setting up beautiful floral pieces at the many great venues we get to deliver to. Her calm, artistic spirit is always a welcome presence on our floral set-ups.
Gio is the newest addition to our team, bringing with him a wealth of talent and design skills from his years of experience as a floral designer in Los Angeles and Phoenix. Hailing in from the Philippines, his joyful attitude, fast-paced work ethic, and insightful perspectives on both life and our trade as florists has brought fresh energy and enthusiasm to our floral studio. We are all so grateful to have his company and talents as a freelancer on our team.
