We are seeing a dramatic increase in the popularity of floral crowns in the past couple of years and couldn’t be more excited about it. Sometimes trends take their time to trickle over to Columbus, Ohio and even our home base of Marysville, Ohio. We like to stay up to date on what is popular in the floral world, and we are loving this trend.
We had fun playing with these ivy rings for one of our Columbus, Ohio brides. They ended up being used to skirt hurricane vase centerpieces later at the reception, adding a simple touch of green to the tables.
This is me, Lynette (center) with two of our core designers Kaitlyn and Lindsay. We have so much fun together, and I’m so blessed to have such talent and joyful young women working for me!
This summer, we were asked to provide a floral crown for a styled engagement shoot, collaborating with Events Held Dear who styled the shoot which was beautifully photographed by Chelsie Burkhart.
Components for this crown came entirely from cuts collected among my gardens with the exception of a couple stems of spray roses and lisianthus. Selections included cranberry bush viburnum, allium, sweet autumn clematis, heuchera, feather celosia, and more. Such a romantic couple! Aren’t Katie and Christian gorgeous?
Floral crowns have been worn for centuries and throughout many cultures as a symbol of the celebration of love, especially in marriage and fertility. Sometimes specific flowers were used because they held a certain meaning that the couple wanted to instill in their marriage.
Leigh Elizabeth photography has been at the forefront in our market when it comes to utilizing and featuring flower crowns in her work. Especially for seniors, she has asked us to create some wonderful hair pieces for her shoots! Check out these lovely senior models!
There are endless options to the design of any floral crown, from simple and delicate, to big statement pieces with large flowers. We have had to opportunity to design several very different styles this year for a number of our Columbus, Ohio brides, as well as for various photo shoots. Sometimes all you need for a statement flower crown are a couple of cymbidium orchids and rosemary.
Other flower crowns contain a mix of more delicate flowers and greenery. The one pictured below is made up of spray roses, hypericum berries, and heuchera leaves.
Whether you want flowers with a specific meaning or just want to feel extra beautiful with flowers in your hair, we would love to create something special for you!
