Dahlias are one of my absolute favorite flowers for use in wedding bouquets, and a favorite of our August 19th bride, Brooke as well. Meeting with her and her groom to begin the process of selecting flowers, I was so charmed by the sweetness and simplicity of their personal style. Flower selections for this Columbus Ohio wedding included freesia, caramel antique garden roses, white garden roses, dahlias, and craspedia. We are so grateful to the young duo, Seth and Beth at S&B Photography for providing us with perfect shots of the wedding party’s flowers, and absolutely honored by their kind words as follows: “We had the pleasure of photographing flowers from MadisonHouse Designs this past weekend. Solidly built and ingenious in design, they were the best bouquets we had ever seen.” Thank you also to Brooke and John for being so easy to work with. It’s always a major reward when we can meet with a couple one time and have that mutual understanding and being on the same page regarding style, budget, and expectations, enabling us to use our creative talents to meet and exceed those expectations.
Celebrated at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Downtown Columbus, we adorned the church with 43 feet of fresh plumosa garland along railings entering the church, contemporary vertical floral sprays on the front doors, as well as yellow and white floral sprays on pews with long black ribbons.
I am in love with the pictures that Seth and Beth took of our Columbus Ohio Wedding Flowers! The bride’s bouquet included loads of white dahlias, white freesia, and caramel antique garden roses, while bridesmaids, dressed in soft yellow, carried smaller bouquets of white dahlias, white garden roses, craspedia, and yellow freesia.
Fresh flowers can sometimes throw us for a loop, as they are natural, perishable, and variable products. Sometimes we want peach dahlias and they come in orange…. sometimes we order white dahlias and they’re too small…and sometimes we receive ranunculus and the stems are rotten. This can be very stressful, as we have very little time to resolve these issues, and need to take fast action to find alternative or substitutions. Thanks to our awesome supplier, we’re able to get immediate action when a product is anything less than perfect. Somehow, every time we have to make a substitution or trouble-shoot an issue like this, the flowers end up turning out even better than before.
