Hi! I’m Lynette Higginbotham, the owner and lead designer of Madison House Designs LLC. I’m happy that you’ve landed on our page and would love to design for you! Our designs take on a natural, organic style, as we seek to create original and lush arrangements that you won’t find in just any floral shop. Located on a former apple farm in the Marysville, Ohio area, we enjoy the serenity and blessing of having a large workspace and even larger walk-in cooler while being just a short 45 minute commute from our main market in Columbus, Ohio. As of February 1st 2016, we now have a brick and mortar shop located right in the heart of downtown old Worthington, located at 656 High Street (the former “Flowers on High”).
What started out as a dream many years ago came to reality in 2011. Being surrounded by fresh flowers and sharing this love and passion for nature with others through the creation of bouquets, arrangements, and other botanical pieces is incredibly rewarding to me. As a child, I remember working closely with my parents in my mother’s perennial gardens, working on the farm with my dad planting and harvesting many different kinds of vegetables, cut flowers, and hay, and spending precious moments with my grandmother picking and snapping green beans and talking about house plants with her. Wherever I go, I am drawn to nature, and am constantly seeking new artistic ways to arrange and present flowers and foliages for our discerning customers.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Landscape Horticulture from The Ohio State University in 2003 followed by an incredible and challenging overseas internship in Holland with a cut-flower grower. After college, I spent seven fast years designing interior tropical landscapes for offices, container gardens for high-end residential and commercial settings, and holiday decorating.
With a leap of faith, in 2011 I quit my high stress sales and design position so that I could be home with my little ones and get my business up and running. Little did I know, it would flourish and bloom nearly overnight, but not without many all-nighters, hard work, and constant attention to detail for our wonderful customers. We love weddings, we love brides, and can safely say that we’ve found our sweet spot! After nearly 15 years of experience in the industry and exposure to unique and extensive plant and flower variations that your typical florist may not even know about, we bring a unique, natural, and organic aesthetic to the table.
This is our barn, where our floral workshop and coolers are located. We welcome you to schedule an appointment to stop out and talk flowers with us or just come out and see our work in progress!
As of spring 2015, we are now offering event styling and would love to handle all visual details for your wedding to create a cohesive look and simplify your to-do list. Learn more about our Event Styling services…
I’m very thankful for our wonderful and talented team! Meet Kaitlyn (left) and Lindsay (right), our two core designers. Often out on deliveries, it’s likely you’ll see them arriving with your carefully packaged arrangements.
